Ingredients: A handful of ice; 1 frozen banana (about 120g); 2 Medjool dates, pitted (about 40g); 1 tbsp almond butter (about 15g); 1 tbsp cacao powder (about 6g); 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus a pinch to finish; 40g Lupin Gold Protein Isolate (2 scoops); 125ml cold brew coffee, or a double espresso (60ml) cooled; 250ml unsweetened almond milk, or any milk you like

Cold brew coffee, frozen banana, dates, cacao, cinnamon and almond butter blended over ice with two scoops of Lupin Gold. A protein coffee that tastes like an iced mocha, with about 43 g of protein.

Iced Mocha Protein Coffee with Lupin Gold

Method

Drop the ice into the blender cup.
Add the frozen banana, broken into chunks, the dates and the almond butter. If your dates are firm, soak them in hot water for 5 minutes first.
Spoon in the cacao and the cinnamon.
Add the Lupin Gold Protein Isolate.
Pour in the cold brew and the almond milk.
Blend for a full 60 seconds, until the dates have completely broken down and it is smooth and frothy.
Taste and adjust: another date for sweeter, a splash more coffee for stronger.
Pour into a glass, dust with a pinch of cinnamon and serve straight away.

Why the extras: Lupin Gold is unflavoured, and stirred into coffee on its own it tastes flat. The banana and dates bring the sweetness and body, and the cacao and cinnamon turn it into an iced mocha.
